PacPay & Macha are Committed to You

Aloha,

As we continue our journey together, we want to address any confusion that may have arisen in the last two weeks over the discontinuation of Hawaii’s Regional Processing Center (RPC).  PacPay and Macha stand resolute as your steadfast and trustworthy partners. We are working closely together, fostering a robust partnership that benefits all our members.

We are reaching out to all PacPay’s members to assure each of you that, although the RPC is discontinuing at the end of August, PacPay will continue as an organization firmly committed to serving our member financial institutions in partnership with Macha.

The Pacific Payments Alliance, also known as “PacPay,” was originally formed as a non-profit organization to oversee the private sector automated clearinghouse, known as Hawaii’s RPC. In the years since PacPay’s formation, our role has evolved beyond the supervision of the RPC. The mission of PacPay is to promote the safe, secure, and efficient use of the payment systems that serve our members in the State of Hawaii and their communities. This mission is accomplished through a program that seeks to:

  • Educate members on the safe and secure use of payment systems.
  • Advocate on behalf of the financial institutions in the State of Hawaii in the development of payment system rules and legislation.
  • Serve as a unified voice for the Hawaii financial institutions.
  • Negotiate for our members to obtain operational support that best meets the special needs of Hawaii financial institutions.

Through our partnership with Macha, we will continue to offer our members the best education and support in the payments industry.  Macha will still be here to answer your calls until 4pm Hawaii Standard Time. Please call the Macha office if you need assistance with your processing solutions toll-free at (800) 453-1843. We remain committed to assisting our members with all their payment and processing operation needs.

Please join us on April 22, 2024 for our annual member meeting in-person at the First Hawaiian Bank or virtually. Come learn about all your benefits including Fraud Day, Hawaii Payments University, and other education opportunities including scholarships to Nacha’s Payments Institute and compliance audits.  We will also have great speakers from Nacha, the Federal Reserve Bank, and the FBI to speak on highly relevant topics for our PacPay membership. You will not want to miss out on this opportunity - register here at pacpay.org.

As we move forward, let us celebrate the enduring strength of our membership. Thank you for all your support and participation. We look forward to continuing to serve you.
